    About DCam

DCam is a custom computer program created by FamilySearch that photographically captures images of archival records along with some brief associated historic, geographic, and technical data. The data is called “metadata.” It provides the means to sort and organize the millions of archival records in the FamilySearch collection. The images and the data are made available to those seeking information about their ancestors on the FamilySearch website.
