DCam User Guide-Supplies and Equipment

Below is a list of supplies you need to capture images from a collection of records or books, instructions on assembling a camera workstation, and lists of keyboard shortcuts to increase efficiency. Be sure to have the following supplies on hand before you begin imaging.

Note: The name of the supply as it appears on the supply ordering list is in parentheses.

A circular focusing target or focus target, sometimes used with Illunis cameras.

A large, clean, blemish-free whiteboard. (Digital Whiteboard)

A grayscale card. (Kodak Color Dep Guide and Grayscale)
Single step calibration board for Nikon cameras.
Black photo tape. (Tape Black Photo #235 Roll)
Lens cleaning supplies. (Lens Cleaning Brush, Lens Cleaning Solution, Lens Cleaning Tissue)

Slip sheets are black and white card stock or construction paper. These are not provided by FamilySearch.
Clamps. (Clip, Barrel Clip 3")
Wedges. (Black Foam Wedge)

Rubber fingers. (#11 Finger to #14 Finger) Use the smaller #11 or #12 for the fore finger; use the larger #13 or #14 for the thumb.

Fluorescent lamps. (55-watt, 5400 Kelvin)

LED lights.

FedEx and yellow shipping labels. (FedEx Billable Stamp Digital, for US only; Digital Mailing Label International and Domestic) New labels usually come in the external HD box.

Black material or sheets that can be attached to the camera stand to shield eyes from the lamps. These are not provided by FamilySearch.
