The DCam Application for Sites without Internet Connection
DMAP is a mobile phone app that works with the DCam software on your archive workstation. When there is not a strong internet connection, this app allows you to safely transfer communication files between your workstation and FamilySearch.
How It Works
When you are away from the archive and you have a strong internet connection, you pick up files from FamilySearch. Then at the archive, you download those files to your DCam workstation. At that same time, you will pick up files from the workstation that you later upload to FamilySearch, when once again you have a strong internet connection.
Types of Files Transferred
Using DMAP, you can receive field orders containing projects, listings, and folder status messages. You can send back metadata and other project information. You cannot send any large files like images, so you do not need to worry about filling up your cell phone with large amounts of data.
