This books considers the ancestry of three immigrant families. The first is the family of Thomas Wieland (Wayland). He was born in 1681 to Thomas and Margaretha (Krafft) Wieland at Lehrensteinfeld, Germany. In 1711 he married Maria Barbara Seppach and with his family immigrated to Virginia ca. 1728. The next family belongs to Anna Elisabetha Albrecht, wife of Christoph Zimmerman. She was born in 1687 to Georg and Anna Elisabetha Albrecht at Bietigheim, Germany. She immigrated with her husband and family in 1717. The last family is that of Johann Michael Koch (Michael Cook). He was born in 1688 to Michael and Anna (Holtzmann) Koch at Hollenbach, Germany. He married Barbara Reiner and immigrated with his wife in 1717.
The Germanna colony was located in Spotsylvania County but may also have been in part of Orange County, Virginia.
