Types of FamilySearch Locations

FamilySearch Centers
FamilySearch centers provide tools and resources for researching your genealogy and family history. They offer personalized help, access to computers and premium family history websites, and images of historical records that may not be available elsewhere.

Affiliate Libraries
FamilySearch affiliate libraries offer resources like those found in a FamilySearch center, such as access to FamilySearch's extensive digital genealogical collections. Affiliate libraries can be public or higher education libraries, archives, museums, cultural centers, or genealogical or historical societies.

The FamilySearch Library
Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the FamilySearch Library is among the largest genealogical research facilities in the world. In addition to a trained research staff, it offers free access to a vast collection of genealogical records, books, microfilms, and digital resources. The library is open to the public at no charge, and some of its resources are also available online.
