Program Description

FamilySearch.org offers text messaging services for you to receive information about your ancestors, plus helpful news and tips. You may receive record hints, discoveries about your ancestors when available, or helpful news like new records or tips on genealogy. When you opt in, you will receive a confirmation message from FamilySearch.org. Message frequency may vary. By signing up, you confirm that you are over the age of 13.

Cost

FamilySearch.org does not charge any fee for joining text alerts. However, message and data rates charged by your wireless provider may apply. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have any questions about your text or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

Opt-Out Information

You can unsubscribe from this message service at any time by replying STOP. As per your request, you will no longer receive any text messages from FamilySearch.org.

Help Information

For additional information, just text HELP, and you will receive a response with contact information.

Carriers

MMS is not available with every carrier. Access denied and service unavailable error messages are often caused by spam blocking features activated on individual phone lines. Please contact your wireless provider about such errors. Note that mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered text messages. Some carriers may send messages using a short code or a special telephone number designed for high throughput, two-way messaging.

Privacy

If you have questions regarding privacy, please visit https://www.familysearch.org/legal/privacy.  Data obtained through the short code program will not be shared with any third parties for their marketing reasons or purposes.
