Canada, Chinese Exclusion Act records, 1923-1946

Registration forms and index cards, C.I. 44 created by Section 18 of the Chinese Immigration Act, 1923 (Chinese Exclusion Act). All Chinese in Canada were required to register within 12 months of the passing of the Act on July 1, 1923, with a provision for those abroad at the time. The forms are in English and contain personal information about each individual. The originals can be found at Library and Archives Canada.
