Notes

Records are in chronological order, filmed in alphabetical order by name of county.

Deaths were recorded from 1900-1907 without certificate numbers. In 1908, the state began issuing numbered certificates.

The numbered death certificates are arranged numerically by certificate number. The certificate numbers were assigned annually after all the certificates for the year were collected and sorted alphabetically by county and thereunder alphabetically by civil subdivision (legally incorporated townships, villages and cities). Certificates for Minneapolis, St. Paul and Duluth follow the certificates for counties.

Microfilm of original records at the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul. Filmed in a cooperative project between the Minnesota Historical Society, the Minnesota Department of Health and the Genealogical Society of Utah.
