Bernhard Wiest (1826-1898) and Johanna Hartmann (1830-1905) were both natives of Würtemburg, Germany. He immigrated to Crescent City, La. in 1854. He and Johanna Hartman/Hartmann were married ca. 1857. Only 4 of their 11 children lived to adulthood. Descendants have scattered throughout the United States.
Includes Wiist/Wuest/Wiiest/Wüst variant spellings as well as Kammerer, Mayer, Schepers, Straub and related families.
