Notes

The City of St. Louis became a separate governing entity from St. Louis County in 1876 and began recording probate records separately August 22, 1876. Probates recorded prior to that date are in the records for St. Louis County.

These case files are arranged chronologically. The numbering system, especially for larger case files, varied over the years.
