James Clark was a member of Capt. John Wilson's Virginia Militia of 1742 and he served in the French and Indian War in 1758. He was born in 1704 and died in 1778. His wife, Elizabeth, probably Elizabeth Summers, died 1781. They were representatives of the first proven generation in Augusta County.
