Thomas Bacon was born in 1615 in Friston Hall, Suffolk, England. He had two children: Captain Edmund Bacon & Nathaniel Bacon, "the Rebel." Thomas Bacon died in 1657 in Westmoreland County, Virginia.

John Journey's mother was Catherine who died ca. 1775 . John was born ca. 1713, probably in Virginia. He married Anne ca. 1735 & had a child, William Journey, who was probably born in Lunenburg County, Virginia, ca. 1736. Elizabeth Bacon (5 generations down from Thomas in 1st paragraph), born c.1738, married William Journey, ca. 1758. They are the presumed parents of Nathaniel Journey who settled in Iredell County, North Carolina, and William Journey who settled in Maury County, Tennessee.
