Compiled from the data collected by Samuel Harris Stevenson, for the Stevenson book, published about 1898, and the additional material gathered by John Abner Harris and brought up to date by William F. Stevenson.
William Stevenson emigrated from Northern Ireland and settled in Pennsylvania in 1748. He married Mary McLelland and eventually settled in North Carolina in 1763. Also includes information on the family of James and Prudence (Roddy) Hall who migrated from Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1752 to North Carolina.
Includes Barkly/Barkley, McEwen, Harkey, Feimster, Gibson, Morrison, Boyd, Vickery, Stikeleather, Crawford, Weston, Scroggs, Hill, Wells, Ewing, Patterson, Sloan, Watt, Summers, McKenzie, Bell, and related families.
