Microfilm of originals at the county courthouse, Springfield.

Volume A was recorded in 1818 although the originals go back to an earlier period.

The index includes government entities and units of government. The names in the Sheriff's deed index are also found in the regular deed index volumes.

Deed volumes 52 and 54 are forms and the dates overlap but the names do not appear to do so.

Deed volumes 42 and 43 have records of discharges from military service. These are indexed in the deed index.

Includes indexes to volume and page. Mortgages in the deed books are indexed in the mortgage indexes.
