Notes

Chiefly ancestors, with many of the ancestors' descendants, and descendants of Salvatore and Mary Buffa Bileci. Salvatore Bileci (1880-1949) was born at Trapani, Sicily, and immigrated to the United States in 1904. Mary Buffa (1891-1977) was born at New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Salvatore and Mattea Viola Buffa, immigrants from Trapani, Sicily. Salvatore Bileci and Mary Buffa were married in 1908 at San Fransisco, California. They had four children, 1909-1922. Salvatore took his wife and oldest child back to Trapani, Sicily in 1915. The three youngest children were born there. Due to immigration problems, Mary and her daughters, returned to California alone in 1927. Salvatore and their son immgrated to California in 1930. The family settled at Monterey where Salvatore had a store. Salvatore and Mary Bileci are buried in the San Carlos Cemetery, Monterey, California. Most descendants listed lived in California. Also gives ancestors cheifly in Sicily, especialy Trapani. Descendants of the ancestors chiefly given in descendants charts.
