"Delayed births were filed numerically by 'A' numbers, then 'B' numbers. A later system was used filing by year, then 'CB' followed by an identifying number. Example: 86CB384, meaning 1986 corrected birth #384. 'CB' numbers are arranged chronologically by year, numerically thereunder" -- Operator report.
The index includes name, birthdate, place of birth, sex, names of parents, residence of parents, date of record, and number.
