Thomas Skidmore (1605-1684) was born in Mayshill, Westerleigh, Gloucestershire, England, son of Richard and Agnes Lawrence Skydmore. Thomas eventually settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts and also lived in Connecticut and New York. He died in Fairfield, Connecticut. Early descendants lived primarily in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and West Virginia. This work includes biographical sketches of 510 known male descendants of Thomas Skidmore who were married and heads of families by the end of 1860.
