Notes

Microreproduction of original manuscripts at the United Methodist Church, Calico Rock, Arkansas.

The church was formerly known as Calico Rock Methodist Episcopal Church, South.

Includes quarterly conference records. Three of these records have only "Calico Rock" on the cover. The names of other congregations are also found within these records, however. Those names include: Mt. View (Stone County); Martin Springs (probably Baxter County); Norfork (Baxter County); Macedonia, Flat Rock, Iuka, Olive Branch, Boswell, Martin Springs (presumably all in Izard County). Lists of personal names (not lengthy) of those attending may represent those church names and locations. (Conf. recs. on film # 2048399, items 6-10.) On the cover of the other 2 volumes, the locales of Cotter & Norfork (both in Baxter County) share volume-cover billing with Calco Rock thus adding to the possibility of personal name representation for those localities within these volumes.

Baptisms (film # 2048399, item 4) are primarily for Calico Rock. Also included are the following locations/congregations (# of baptisms in parentheses): Fairview (3); Wild Cherry (1); Corinth (13); Viola (4); Spring Creek (9); Flat Rock (1); Wiseman (2); Hartford (2); Norfork (3). With the probable exception of Hartford, all of these congregations/locations are assumed to be in the Izard, Baxter, Stone & Fulton (not much for Fulton) counties area. Memberships & transfers of membership (film #2048399, item 5) are, again, primarily for Calico Rock. Other locations/congregations are also found but not many.
