"The Methodist Episcopal Church of Southbury, organized in 1845, and the Congregational Church of Southbury, organized in 1732, were federated in 1922. It was agreed that preaching services were to be held in the Methodist Church every Sunday morning for six months and in the Congregational Church for six months each year. The Federated Church of Southbury is listed in the Year Books of both denominations.".
