The Superior Court of Law was created in 1808 and replaced in 1831 by the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery. The Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery was replaced in 1851 by the Circuit Court.
Vols. 2-6 were called common law order books. Common law is the body of law developed primarily from judicial decisions based on custom and precedent, unwritten in statute or code. Orders are judgments based on those laws.
Volumes after 1832 are individually indexed.
