Microfilm of original records at the Norfolk County Courthouse in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Some bonds are badly damaged. The loose bonds were pasted onto sheets of paper which were bond into volumes.

Norfolk County became extinct in 1963 when it merged with the city of South Norfolk to form the city of Chesapeake.

Includes incomplete index.

Includes a few marriage licenses and ministers' returns.
