Chiefly the author's philosophy of life and recollections of family life. Includes genealogical charts with ancestors names and biographical sketches of the author, his wife, their ancestors and relatives.

Howard Gramm Schultz was born at Newport, Kentucky, in 1920, the son of Joseph George Schultz (1893-1943) and Marie Rose Staubach Schultz (1896-1983). He served in the air force during World War II and the Korean War. He married Christine Davis in 1950 at Newport, Kentucky. They had eight children. He reived at Ph.D. Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1957 and was a professor of Economics, Finance and Mangement at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. Christine Davis was born in 1927 at Maher, West Virginia, the daughter of Lewis Nicholas Davis (1900-1987) and Ivory Charlotte Duncan (1906-1983). She was working at Cincinnati, Ohio, when she met and married Howard Schultz.

Ancestors include: John Schultz (1839-1915) of Cold Spring, Kentucky -- Baldwin Staubach (1842-1924 of Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany, and Newport, Kentucky -- Anderson Duncan (fl. 1872) of Kentucky -- Joseph Legner (fl. 1838) of Hessen, Germany, and Cincinnati, Ohio -- William Meade (1762-1841) of Frederick County, Virginia, and Mingo County, West Virginia.
