Ephraim Bowen (ca. 1725-ca. 1792) and his wife, Ann, were married in Lunenberg County, Virginia, ca. 1752. They probably had five sons 1753-1765, born in Lunenberg County and Charlotte County, Virginia. Ephraim and Ann Bowen died in Albamarle County, Virginia. James Boian (1765-1817), probably their youngest son, married Elizabeth Fortune in Albemarle County, Virginia, in 1798. They had a son in 1779. After her death, he married 2) Zra Eubank (1779-1823) in 1801 1801 in Albermarle County. They had eight children, 1801-1817. The family were living in Amherst County, Virginia, by 1810 and in Nelson County, Virginia, by 1816. After James death, Zera and her children children migrated to Barren County, Kentucky, with her father's family, in 1817. She was living in Monroe County, Kentucky, by 1820. She married 2) James Tomlinson ca. 1822. They has a daughter in 1823. Zera died in child birth. Descendants listed, chiefly descendants of her son, William Boin (1805-1893), lived in Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio,.

Includes the Ambrose, Wagers, Parke, Gum, Todd, Lackey, Gentry, Eubank and other allied families.
