The earliest documented ancestor, Jeremiah H. Wilcher, was born ca. 1770. He was of Jefferson Co., Georgia. He and his wife had several land transactions in Warren and Jefferson Co., Ga. from the 1780s through the early 1800s. They had nine children. Julius Caesar Augustus Wilcher (1879-1953) was the son of William James Wilcher and Sarah Jane (Sallie) Madison Wilsher of Amherst Co., Va. He was born in Glascock Co., Ga., married 1901 in Gibson, Glascock Co., Ga., Eva Estelle Hawkins (1883-1925). She was the daughter of John Hiram Hawkins and Mary Hansel Beckworth.

Includes Beckwith, Beckworth, Gooch, Horne, Hawkins, Claiborne, Newsome, Powell and allied families.
