Powell Stamper (ca. 1685-1727) was born in Middlesex County, Virginia, the son of John Stamper. He married Mary Brooks (1687-1727), daughter of Jonathan and Sarah Brooks, in Middlesex County, in 1708. They had six children, 1712-1725. Their great grandson, William Stamper (1774-1852), was born in North Carolina, the son of James Stamper (1750-1826). He and his wife, Emily Polly (1778-1850), had twelve children, 1797-1823. William and Emily Stamper died in Morgan County, Kentucky, and are buried in the old Stamper Graveyard, Grassy Creek, Kentucky. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Washington, Oregon, and elsewhere.
Includes the Miller, Henderson, Erwin, Dickenson, and other allied families.
