"Organized in 1848 as the Wilkinson Congregational Church, this church since then has had several changes of name -- "Quinebaug Congregational Church", "The Village Church of Putnam", and "The Second Congregational Church of Putnam". The First Congregational Church of Putnam is inactive. This church was incorportated as the Congregational Church of Putnam in 1928. The Ecclesiastical Society transferred its property to the Church Corporation in January 1929.".
