Notes

"This book was not initially intended as an end - a finished genealogy - and the intent now is present only a chronology of Fowler events. This includes a listing of events, by specific areas, that were recorded in county public records such as deed books, wills, court records, newspaper articles, and some church records. Interpretation of these records, which are arranged by area, chronologically, will be brief.".

"My efforts concerning this extraction and compilation was to try and find the ancestors of Mason Fowler, my ancestor of record. Two brief entries in the public records of Warren County, North Carolina linked him to Briggs Fowler, a brother. Both are sons of Thomas Fowler, and Elizabeth, his wife, of Meklinburg County, Virginia. Mason, Briggs, Miles, Sterling, Jones, Wylie, along with John, William, and Thomas, Jr. are sons of Thomas and Elizabeth ... Thomas's son, Mason, associated with apparent relatives in Chesterfield County, suggests that Thomas is a probably brother of Gardner, Josiah, and William Fowlers, sons of Thomas Fowler who died in 1743, and a grandson of Godfrey Fowler who died in 1747 ...".
