Henry Terrell (ca. 1703-1760) was born in Hanover County, Virginia, the son of William and Susanna Terrell. He lived most of his life in Carolina County, Virginia. He married twice and was the father of ten children. His son, Henry Chiles Terrell (1730-1812) was born in Caroline County, Virginia. He married Mary Tyler (d. 1814) in 1765 in Spencer County, Kentucky. They had nine children, 1766-1785. Their grandson, Henry Clay Terrell was born in 1821 in Spencer County, Kentucky, the son of Zacheriah Terrell (b. 1779). He was a widower when he married Elizabeth McDonald Sulliven (b. 1837), a widow in 185_. They had six children, 1856-1898. Their daughter, Capitola Black Terrell (1858-1936) was born at Mt. Eden, Kentucky. She married Thomas H. Bown, who was born in 1851 in Spencer County, Kentucky, in 1877. They had five children, 1878-ca. 1883. She was a widow when she married 2) John Thomas Sprague in 1881, probably at Mt. Eden, Kentucky. They had three children, 1889-1894, born at Clinton, Illinois. Descendants listed lived in Illinois, California and elsewhere.
