Col. William Ball (ca. 1615-1680) was born in England and married Hannah Atherold (ca. 1620-ca. 1695), daughter of Thomas and Mary Harvey Atherold, there in 1638. They had at least four children, ca. 1639-1650, born in England. The family immigrated to Maryland in 1657. They moved to Lancaster County, Virginia, ca. 1663. He died at "Millenbeck" Lancaster County. Descendants listed, especially descendants of his son, Capt. William Ball (1641-1694), lived in Virginia, Missouri, Kentucky, and elsewhere. Record traces some descendants to ca. 1890.
Includes the Beale, Downman, Walton, and other related families.
