Ancestors and descendants of the author, Ruth Hope Parker Lesseley, and her husband, Harry Russell Lessley, and families of some of her ancestors.

Ruth Hope Parker was born in 1905 in Ellis County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Earl Leonidas Parker (1875-1941) and Anna Laura Berry Parker (1874-1907). She married Harry Russell Lessley in 1926 at Las Vegas, New Mexico. They had four children, 1928-1937, born in New Mexico and Missouri. Harry Russell Lessley (1906-1973) was born in Pettis County, Missouri, the son of William Aubrey Lessley (1884-1960) and Pearle May Stout Lessley (1884-1959). He died at Paducah, Kentucky. Children and grandchildren lived in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia in 1973.

Ancestors include: Chesley Dobbs (1749-1834), a Revolutionary War soldier, of Culpepper County, Virginia, North Carolina, and Claiborne County, Tennsessee -- Joel Dobbs (1791-1842) of Buncombe County, North Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana, and Taney County, Missouri -- William Henley Parker (1815-1817) of Tennessee and Morgan County, Indiana -- Joel Dobbs Parker (1844-1920) of Indiana and Oklahoma -- Lewis Keller (1800-1875) of Virginia and Indiana -- Samuel Lessley (d. after 1800) of South Carolina and Virginia -- John Parker (fl. 1775-1785) of England, South Carolina, and North Carolina -- Devault Keller (1749-after 1835) of Germany, Virginia, and Indiana.
