Marion Thomas Cannon (1866-1953) was born in Kentucky. He married Susan Elle Yates (1870-1944), daughter of James Yates and Annie Gentry. Also includes information on the family of William Cannon Sr. (ca. 1762/1765-1815) of Newberry District, South Carolina and Kentucky. He married Abigail Abarella Williams. Gates ancestry is traced to James Abner Gates (1810-1888), born in Virginia, died in Graves County, Kentucky. Includes family of Edward Gates (1727-1819), born in Chesterfield County, Virginia and died in Garrard County, Kentucky. Also includes family of William Gates who married Polly Ward Cheatham. He died in Haywood County, Tennessee in 1899. Lucas ancestry is traced to Elisha Michael Lucas, born 1879 in Columbus, Kentucky. Williams ancestry is traced to Daniel Williams (born ca. 1742) who married Cassandra Prather and died in Newberry, South Carolina. Hill family is traced to William Franklin Hill (1832-1904) and his wife, Martha Ellen Gregory of Groves County, Kentucky. .

Includes Williams, Stark, Gray, Foy, Boaz, Pinegar, and other ancestral families.
