Notes

Richard Priddy (1760?-1831) was born in Hanover County, Virginia. He served for three years in the first Virginia Regiment during the Revolutionary War. He married Judith Forrest in 1782 in Hallifax County, Virginia. They probably had twelve children, 1782-1810. the family was living in Jefferson County, Tennessee, by 1795, and migrated to Mogan County, Alabama, ca. 1818. His son, Thomas J. Priddy (1796-1876) served in the Tennessee Militia during the War of 1812. He married Margaret Terry (1803-1862) in 1821, probably in Alabama. They had eleven children, 1822-1846, born in Marion County, Alabama, and Itawamba County, Mississippi. He and other family members migrated to Texas in 1869. He died near Kaufman, Texas. Descendants listed, chiefly descendants of his sons who migrated to Texas, lived in Texas and elsewhere.
