Notes

Microreproduction of original records at the South Suburban Genealogical & Historical Society, South Holland, Illinois.

The packets mentioned in the filmed introduction, "Pullman Car Works Collection" (found at the beginning of each reel of film), have not been filmed. Only the service forms & the employment index cards were filmed. Both sets are in alphabetical order.

It appears that the service forms & employment index cards serve the same purpose, the difference being that the service forms run ca. 1900-1914 and the employment cards run ca. 1914-1949. The dates being counted for the employment index cards are the "Hired" dates, not the "Entered Service" dates which may run much earlier (pre-1900 dates were noted).

Service forms include age & other data. Employment index cards include date of birth.
