Up to 1956, more than 17,500 are matriculates and 7,011 are graduates from the Virginia Military Institute. This book contains information on most of them. The personal entries for cadets from 1842 to 1889 are printed just as they were in the Register of 1939 with corrections and additions. Entries from 1890 to 1960 were printed in a new style from information gathered by questionaires, Institute records, relatives and other sources.
Each entry gives personal information, education, occupation, military, and address, or date of death.
Includes lists of military distinctions, Board of Visitors, superintendents, administrative staff and commandants, and faculty.
Also available on microfilm and digital images.
