William McGuffock (ca.1707-ca.1772) lived in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1751. Benjamine McGuffick (fl.1760-1800) lived in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. James McGavock (1728-1812) emigrated in 1754/ 1755 from northern Ireland to Philadelphia, worked as a teamster for the British General Braddock during the French and Indian War, and in 1757 settled in Augusta County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives of these three early colonists lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Colorado, Texas and elsewhere.

Includes Dever, Graham, Hudson, Patterson, Vansant, Watterson and related families.
