Upon the abolishment of the county court in the state of Iowa in 1869, its jurisdiction was transferred to the circuit court, which was created at that time and which was continued until 1886. When the circuit court was abolished in 1886, its jurisdiction was passed on to the district court in the beginning of 1887.
The separate index covers only final naturalization dates. The date on the index card refers to v.1, v.2, bk.1, and v.C-G. If no volume or book number is given, but only a page and date, please refer to the volumes with no number (no no.). Each volume also has its own index.
