Ancestors of Jean Carter Young (b. 1920), daughter of Flint Carter Young and Susan Katherine Schoeppl. She was born in Smithville, Bastrop Co., Texas. She married 1941 Robert William Fish born 1917 in Gladwin, Michigan. The early ancestors were: 1. Samuel Young (1787/88-1867), son of William Young and Elizabeth Johnson, who was born in Londonderry, Ulster, Ireland and died in Fayette Co., Texas. He was married to Jane Kerr (1793-1851). 2. Giles Carter (1634-1701), son of Giles Carter and Elizabeth Tracy, was born in England and died in Turkey Island, Henrico Co., Va. Elizabeth Tracy was form Stanway, Gloucester, England. 3. John Schoeppl (1852-1898) was born in Wels, Austria. He died in Kendall Co., Texas. He married Louise W. Kroeger (1868-1938) in 1888. She was born at sea off Falmouth, England and died in San Antonio, Texas. 4. The first members of the Kroeger family to come to America were twin brothers, Carl Friedrich Kroeger (1839-1914) and William Carl Kroeger (1839-1912), sons of Andres J. Kroeger and Elisa Heuer. They were born in Greifswalde, Germany. William came first in 1857. He married Ophelia Gabriella Fisk in 1867. Carl married Elisa Dinse (1844-1934). They had fourteen children. Four oldest were born in Germany and the rest in.
Texas. Family immigrated to Texas sometime after 1871. Contains only family group records.
