Notes

Microfilm of original typescripts of oral interviews conducted between 1985 and 1986 in various New England states of the United States.

A name index and a country index are provided on pages 19 and 21 respectively in the printed guide to these microfilms.

The interviewees are listed in order of their oral history numbers. On the first line of each entry, the oral history number appears to the left of each interviewees name. The second line of each entry concerns the immigrants history : the location from where he or she emigrated, the date of immigration, and the place where he/she first settled. Unless otherwise indicated, the immigrants first entered the United States by way of Ellis Island. The third line concerns the interview : the name of the interviewer, the date of the interview, and the total page count. Some entries contain additional notes in parenthesis ( ).
