Exchequer Depositions by Commission are those depositions in suits before the Court of Exchequer where deponents (or witnesses) were examined in the locality concerned in the dispute before commissioners appointed by the court. They are of especial value to genealogists because the deponents stated on oath their names, addresses, ages, and occupations, and because the evidence given by them is generally of biographical and genealogical interest.

Contents: v. 1.
