Peter Pope (1802-1896), son of Frederick and Mary Ketner Pope, was born in Virginia or Ohio, and died in Ouachita County, Arkansas. He married Serena Pace 1829/30 in Alabama. They had five children born in Alabama and Arkansas. Serena Pace was the daughter of Silas Pace II born in South Carolina and Elizabeth Foreman born in North Carolina. The emigrant ancestor, John Christman Pope (ca. 1712-1803), was born in Germany, probably in Wuerttemberg. He came to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1731/33. He married Miss Burghardt 1758 in Virginia. They lived in Rockingham County, Virginia. The emigrant ancestor of the Pace family, Richard Pace, was born in England about 1596. He and his wife Isabella Smyth were in Jamestown in August of 1611. Descendants live in Arkansas, Ohio and elsewhere.
