Original book was copied in 1966 by Emory L. Hamilton. This copy was recopied in 1970 by Bobbie M. Baldwin.

The Stony (Stoney) Creek Primitive Baptist Church was organized in the late 1700's. It was located on Stony Creek near Fort Blackmore in Scott County, Virginia. Some of its members may have been Melungeons.
