Richard Williams emigrated from England or Wales to Middlesex County, Virginia. One descendant, James Williams, married Mary Updegrove and settled in Rowan County, North Carolina and later settled in Kentucky and then Indiana. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Kansas, etc. Vol. 3 includes history of family of Thomas Hardwick (ca. 1750-1807) who was born in Albermarle or Amherst County, Virginia and died in Adair County, Kentucky as well as family of Henry Rhoads Sr. who came to America in 1737 from Germany and died before 1774 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Included in volumes 2 and 3 is history of Johann Heinrich Ridenour (1713-1781) who was born in Rexingen, Bas-Rhin, France and later died in Washington, Maryland.
Includes Williams, Weaver, Tuggle, Moseley, Daniel, Beckenbach (Peckinpaugh), Ridenour, Tullis, Van Dyke, Pendarvis, Kerr, Hardwick, Wisdom, Rhoads, Cockrum, Bricken, Hunsaker, etc. families.
