William Craddock was probably born in King William Co., Virginia, and died in Nottoway Co., Virginia, his will dated 1793. He descended from the Caradoc family of Carmarthen, Wales. He married 1) Mary Cross, daughter of John Cross and Jane Featherstone of Charles City County, 2) Hannah Harper, daughter of Edward and Hannah Harper of Charles City County, and 3) Sarah Truly. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina, and elsewhere.

Includes Craddock, Jeter, Smith, Jackson, Cabiness, and related families.
