Cornelius McIntosh and Sarah A. Montgomery were married in 1805 in Kentucky. Five or six of their children were born in Logan County. Cornelius died about 1815. Sarah remarried in 1818. Several of their children and grandchildren were converted by early members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints about 1838. Many of them moved to Illinois and Iowa to be with the Saints. At the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith, the family split with several families moving west while the others became members of the Reorganized Church. Descendants of both groups are included in this history.

Includes McIntosh, Boren, Fairchild, Points, Young, Mikesell, and related families.
