John Yeardley Yates (1807-1882) was the son of Samuel Yates and Lydia Parsons. He married Elizabeth Feline Lipford (1814-1908). Their descendants lived in Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Maine, Washington and elsewhere.
