The immigrant ancestor Hans Georg Gerster (John George Castor) (1710- 1797) was born in Basel, Switzerland and died in Frankford (Philadelphia), Pa. He arrived at the port of Philadelphia in 1736. He married (1) Eve Gysin (Gisin) (ca. 1710-1777) in 1735; (2) Anna Marie Burghart 1782 in German Reformed Church, Frankford, Pa. He had eight children born in Germantown and Chestnut Hill, Pa. Descendants live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and elsewhere.
