John Taylor (d.ca.1679) immigrated from England to Barbados about 1640. Zachariah Howard Taylor (1800-1859), a direct descendant in the sixth generation, married Elizabeth Ann Rawlins in 1822, and in 1843 they immigrated (via New Berne, North Carolina) to Philadelphia. Descendants in the ninth generation, sisters Anita Marjory Taylor and Elizabeth Ann Taylor, married: Anita to Gordon Alward Hardwick (b.1893) of Iowa, and Elizabeth to Newbold Ely (1896-1947 of Ambler, Pennsylvania. Much of this volume deals with ancestry of these Taylor, Hardwick, and Ely lines in England, Wales, Scotland, France, Germany, Scandinavia, Spain and the rest of Europe, involving Royalty back to about 500 B.C. and earlier.

Includes Crispin, Janney, Mauleverer, Morris, Newbold, Pancoast and related families.
