High reduction (42X) microfilm. Use high magnification reader.

Baptismal and membership registers (with some deaths) of the Dutch Reformed Church of Africa, Angola. There is some overlapping of information. Includes date of christening, name of child, birth date, parents' names (with mother's maiden name), names of witnesses, place of christening, date and place of admittance into membership, and through whose agency the ordinance was performed. These records are often in alphabetical order or include indexes. Entries are from various localities in Angola, formerly called Portuguese West Africa. The entries are summaries, are not always chronological, and are often transcribed from earlier sources, so dates of the entries are often older than their dates of compilation. Records often contain gaps and may be filmed out of sequence.
