Notes

Microfilm of original records at the State Auditor's Office, Charleston. The first two rolls are films of photostats of the originals.

The County assessor collected the information, the Clerk of the County Court approved it and then sent it to the State Auditor. These records do not include land already sold to the state for taxes. They are arranged first by district and then by first letter of the surname.

Beginning in 1874 the records have tables of tracts of land and tables of town lots.

There is a duplicate of the year 1891 on roll 0462963.
