Volumes contain "recorded copies of warrants issued by the Land Office on the basis of certificates from the governor proving Revolutionary War military service and thus eligibility for bounty land". -- Virginia Land Office inventory, p. 24.

Eight volumes are in numerical order by the number of the warrant. They give warrantee's name, quantity of land, military service, and date warrant was issued. Amount of information varies from volume to volume.
